Someone is missing from this family picture and their hearts are completely broken. How do you have a Christmas without a Daddy? They are living through what a lot of us would consider to be an absolute hellish nightmare.

Day 2 of Giving Back: December 2, 2018
For years, I have watched her. You may have seen her too. I drive past her on the way to drop off the kids at school in the morning. I drive past her on the way to go get groceries. I drive past her on the way to a coffee date with friends. I drive past her on the way to work.
This lady. She has been inspiring me for years and didn’t even know it.
7 Million Dollars
Day 3 of Giving Back: December 3, 2018
If you win the lottery, what would you do with 7 million dollars?!?! Who hasn’t had that conversation at some point?
This morning we bought 50 Lotto 6/49 tickets and 50 Christmas themed scratch tickets, and randomly tucked them into vehicle windshields across Spruce Grove and Stony Plain AB

Canadian Armed Forces
Day 4 of Giving Back: December 4, 2018
We traveled through the United States over the past spring and summer with our children and I can remember many moments where cashiers found out that the customer in front of us was in the Army. Or in the Police force. Or was a Firefighter. And I cannot count how many times the civilians around me said to them “Thank you for your service”.

Day 5 of Giving Back: December 5, 2018
“We were SO close to losing Hudson. We truly believe that he is here today because of the PICU team”. Eight year old Hudson Pedlar’s Mom, Robin Pedlar.
This little guy is one of ours. He contracted H1N1 and narrowly lived through a harrowing fight for his life.
24 days, 21 hours, and 42 minutes. Life.
This strong little warrior has made it!
Small Business Cash MOB for Volunteers
Day 6 of Giving Back: December 6, 2018
We went out into our community and found these women through different contacts, referrals, and recommendations.
We invited them to secretly meet us at our shop this evening… and they all showed up not having a clue what was going to happen!!
They are all not just amazing women, moms, wives, grandmothers, employees, and employers… on top of all of these roles they are VOLUNTEERS!
Bus Drivers
Day 7 of Giving Back: December 7, 2018
You’re driving your van all around town, doing pick-ups at school, drop-offs at sports, pick-ups at the grocery store, drop-offs at home and the whole time your kids are in the back… singing, yelling, eating, maybe misbehaving, maybe sleeping, probably asking a billion questions… and then asking the same questions again… and you think to yourself “Are we there yet?”
Can you imagine doing this for 4hours a day, with 50 kids? Let’s love up on our bus drivers a little bit!
Swimming with Santa
Day 8 of Giving Back: December 8, 2018
Family time!
Santa Trevor passed out 200 free swim passes at Spruce Grove’s TransAlta Tri Leisure Centre tonight and it was so exciting to hear the children SCREAMMMMM when he walked onto the pool deck in his flip flops and sandals with Jingle Bells music rocking on his belt!!
The lifeguards joined in on the dance line and everyone was taking pictures... so fun!!

Day 9 of Giving Back: December 9, 2018
Serving customers can be hard!! It’s too hot, it’s too cold, this is not what I was expecting, there is a hair in my food, can I have more sauce, can our party of 20 have separate bills?
This beautiful lady has been giving us the most excellent service for years!!

Day 10 Giving Back: December 10, 2018
Blood cannot be created, it needs to be donated. Together, we are Canada’s Lifeline.
I didn’t know if our staff would want to do this with us for the 12 Days of Giving but they did!!
Maikha & Seth
Day 11 of Giving Back: December 11, 2018
This is Maikha. She has been working for us since the day that we opened and she is invaluable to us!
She is a single Mom, and this is tough. Today, we gave Maikha and Seth their trip to the Hong Kong Disneyland. Mom and son.

Secret Santa Deliveries

We have made it to Day 12!!!! It’s our 2nd Birthday today!!!
We would like to thank all of our staff, our friends, and our family who have worked with us behind the scenes of every day of our Giving Back. We seriously never could have gotten past the first day without them; we love you and we thank you.
