Auggie’s Café!!

We were so excited to be here today!!

Literally, just steps away from our shop is Auggie’s Café (working out of the Parkland Anglican Church)…and it is bursting with remarkable people

Every single Tuesday, over 100 free hot meals are served to anyone that would like to stop in...and we were lucky enough to cook for each of them today.

We served up smoked pulled pork with the help of BBQ To Go, fresh coleslaw salad (a family recipe from one of our employees), fresh buns from Cobs Bread, and cookies from local baker, Vicki’s DiVine Food Services.

The children were super excited to skip school to be our waitresses and hosts...and they were loving up all the guests by coloring them Christmas ornaments, serving them cookies and ice cream, and singing Jingle Bells to them (again lol)

The kids went to each table and made a note of what is on everyone’s Santa Lists, here are the highlights:

  1. A car
  2. A new pair of socks
  3. For peace, all over the world
  4. Good health
  5. New pajamas
  6. A boyfriend with money (lol!!!!)
  7. Candy canes
  8. That everyone’s children will be in their Momma’s homes
  9. A new pair of slacks and...
  10. Jennifer Lopez (haha!!)

Auggie’s Café is a gem in our community. People stop in for the food but it’s the smiles of companionship and warmth of acceptance that they come back for time and again.

And we hope to be back again soon too

Merry Christmas!!
